Governments of D'Tanile

The country of Nin is a republic, divided into six city-states and governed by a senate of seven. There is an eighth chair on the council that is never filled; it is a position that has always traditionally been empty. Six of the seven senators represent each of the six city-states; the seventh position is held by a member of the Dorgany family, and is generally passed down from parent to child. Kamaria is the capitol of the country, and home of the senate meetings.

The Arena is a giant coliseum where people of all races and backgrounds from all over the world gather to test their luck and skill in battle, either against monsters provided by the Arena, or against other participants. Additionally, it is an excellent place for novices in any field to go to learn their trade, or for experts to teach their craft, as the Arena also acts as a giant school where anyone can teach or be taught. The building is so large that its twelve floors home shops, temples, infirmaries, taverns, and inns where people can rent rooms for weeks and months at a time, depending on how long they plan on staying for training and battling. Some people have even rented out apartments and moved in entirely, making the Arena their permanent home.

The Arena is, in a way, its own mini-country; it has its own government and its own set of guards who enforce the laws of the building. Anyone found guilty of an Arena law within its walls must stand trial there and may even be imprisoned, if they're found guilty. The Arena is governed by a council of eleven, each representing a different area of the Arena:
The Temples -- religious representation
The Guards -- judicial representation
The Teachers (Fighters) -- melee educational representative
The Teachers (Mages) -- magical educational representative
The Stadium -- engineering representative
The Merchants -- trade representative
The Inns -- housing representative
The Guilds -- guildmasters representative
The Infirmaries -- medical representative
The Vaults -- financial representative
The Gladiator -- honorary position held by the highest ranking participant of the Arena games

Currently, we have some maps of the floors of the Arena, to give readers an idea of where the more common locations are; more will be added as we have time to complete them.
