The RPG is not currently open for new members or characters; think of it as an interactive story that the authors write together. The characters, images, plots, and webpage are all original -- though inspiration has been borrowed from several sources, including video games, novels, anime, and more. Originally, the two primary storylines were actually separated into two individual RPGs, Nin and The Arena. Characters and ideas from these two RPGs, with some modifications, were brought together to create Story of a World. Logs from the original RPGs are not currently available on the web, but most of it will be replayed in the new storylines anyway. About the Webpage Story of a World's webpage was designed by Tiamat, though most of the images were drawn by Jetmode, who also puts all the logs into HTML format, and the page is updated and maintained by both creators.
